Women in Aviation International (WAI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the number of women involved in all aspects of aviation and aerospace.  Our main location is 1864 Dayton Germantown Pike, Unit 4, Germantown, Ohio 45327.

History
WAI was formally established in 1994 as a nonprofit organization. The first Women in Aviation International Conference was held in Prescott, Arizona, in 1990.

Membership Classifications 

  • More than 20,000 active members
  • Members reside in over 100 countries
  • 180 chapters
  • Over 5,000 Junior WAI members ages 18 and younger
  • 85% women; 14% men
  • 9.5% International (Outside the U.S.)
  • Over 400 corporate members, including global aviation and aerospace industry leaders
  • 18% Student (College and University Students)
  • Average age of a WAI member is 36 years old (without Junior Members)
  • Over 35% of Members are people of color

Women in Aviation International Conference

  • Hosted annually since 1990, with approximately 150 attendees that first year
  • More than 4,500 attendees in 2023 from 16 countries
  • General sessions, professional development seminars, education sessions, and tours
  • Special events, scholarship awards, WAI Pioneer Hall of Fame induction ceremony
