Annual Chapter Reporting
Annual reports are compiled by Women in Aviation International Headquarters for all Official Chapters requiring specific information and documentation. This ensures that all chapters are meeting the requirements of the WAI Bylaws, which in turn, ensures that WAI is meeting the requirements that are in place to maintain our 501(c)3 non-profit status, and that WAI's insurance remains in good standing.
It is also a good idea for new officers to review the Annual Chapter Agreement to ensure that they are familiar with the reporting requirements for chapters. Annual reporting is required by all Official Chapters over one year.
Each year, before April 30, Official WAI chapters over one year must:
- File the 2024 Annual Chapter Report HERE
- Pay Annual Chapter Administrative Fee of $135 (plus any past due amounts). *Please note that a $25 late fee will apply to all payment received after April 30th.
The Annual Chapter Administrative Fee of $135 is due by April 30

For U.S Chapters covered under the WAI Tax-Exempt Group Ruling: Once your chapter has become Official, you are now required to report income to Federal and State entities. The WAI fiscal year for Chapters begins each October and ends each September.
You must file your IRS reporting annually. Reporting begins Oct. 1 and concludes Feb. 15.
Chapters reporting less than $50,000 in income will file an electronic 990N form. Filing is super easy and your chapter team will send out instructions along with several reminders throughout the filing period. Filing is mandatory for all Official chapters covered under the WAI tax-exempt group ruling. A copy or screenshot of the filing must be sent to the chapter relations team as proof that this has been completed each year.
